Breaking News

April 12
BREAKING NEWS-(OKLAHOMA CITY)
KBAM'S PARENTS TRAVELED TO OKLAHOMA CITY TO GAIN ANSWERS TO WHY NO RESPONSE TO I-600A DOCUMENTATION FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY.

ONCE AT THE OFFICES OF HOMELAND SECURITY THE PARENTS WERE INFORMED THAT NOBODY WAS AVAILABLE TO ANSWER OR HELP WITH THEIR QUESTIONS. ONE OFFICER COMMENTED THAT THE PERSON THAT HANDLES THE ADOPTION ISSUES WITH THE DALLAS OFFICE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. WHEN PRESSED FOR AN ANSWER FOR WHEN HE WOULD BE AVAILABLE THE PARENTS WERE TOLD 3-4 MONTHS.

I GUESS OUR TAXES DOLLARS ARE WORKING WELL IN THIS DEPARTMENT..........NOT!

EMOTIONS WERE RUNNING HIGH AT THIS TIME BUT THEY DECIDED NOT TO BE SHUT DOWN. THEY CONTACTED JANICE HAGAN IN SENATOR TOM COBURNS OFFICE FOR ASSISTANCE. SHE INFORMED THEM TO COME RIGHT OVER AND SHE WOULD HANDLE THE SITUATION. FEARING THE WORST - THAT THEIR PAPERWORK HAD BEEN LOST------AGAIN - SHE STARTED MAKING DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE DALLAS OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY.

IN AN IRONIC TWIST THOUGH; AS THE PARENTS RETURNED HOME AND CHECKED THEIR MAILBOX THE DOCUMENTS THAT HAD BEEN IN LIMBO SAT WAITING. AN AFTERNOON OF PRAYER FROM KYA'S MEME WAS ANSWERED AND THE MARCH TO BRING HOME THIS ANGEL WAS BACK ON.

KEEP POSTED FOR THE LATEST IN BREAKING NEWS REPORTS FROM THE FIELD.

Feels Like Today My Life is Changing!

Ho Hum Just Dreaming of My Mommy and Daddy coming soon to hold me!
Oh Precious Angel...I can't wait to hold you in my ARMS!
Yup I am 22 days old today!
We think of you every second of every day sweet princessa!
HELLO...COME ON MOMMY I WANT YOU NOW!!!

March 22 2006....The Day Our Lives Changed Forever!

We saw the most beautiful baby girl today...her name is Angelica....But we knew in our hearts that her name would soon be Kya Blu Angelica Murnan.

March 23 2006.... God Blessed us with our Bundle of Joy! We knew from the minute We laid eyes on her precious face that she was to be our baby....Thankfully our Adoption Agency Across the World Adoptions thought so too. They let us accept her referral even though we were still waiting on the USCIS approval. Our Adoption Facilitator is Mayra Escobar.

March 28 2006....I got to share the wonderful news with our families today. Everyone cried tears of joy...We are so thankful to God for this Blessing...I have prayed for THIS CHILD and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him Samuel 1:27 ( I would like to send a special HUG to my Grandpa Teel because I know that on this day My Nana Pauline was smiling down from Heaven on both of us.)

March 30 2006....One step closer to holding Our Guatemalan Princess. Spent the weekend in OKC with my friend Jana who is also Adopting a Guatemalan Princess. I was able to get Kya's Dossier certified by the Secretary of State and then off the Houston to the Guatemala Consulate.....I also got to do my favorite thing...SHOP FOR KYA! I bought her first Easter Dress. I also was able to talk with Kya's foster family in Guatemala for the first time. It was so moving...I could not quit crying. Her foster mother is a Wonderful Lady. She said she was so glad God blessed us with this baby. She said that Kya or Nina' as she called her (which means precious first born daughter) was doing great. She was so happy that we called her. She also said she sends her blessings to our family.

April 5 2006...Kya's dossier is sent to Guatemala so it can be translated. We now have our Passports and are just waiting on a letter from INS so we can get fingerprinted..again..We have to have that done to get our approval here in the US. Please keep us in your prayers that we get that done quickly so we can have our baby home as soon as possible.

April 7 2006...We got to hear Kya's voice for the first time over the phone. YES we were crying our eyes out! It was Awesome and we will never forget it. It was a "TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY MOMENT!" We have the greatest Foster Mom and our Friend Minnie who translated for us. We have been so blessed with all the love, friendship, and support we have received from our friends and family. We shared more about us with the Foster Mom and learned more about her. We are the first Adoptive Family to Call her and she really enjoys our calls. We also sent Kya a package this week with her Easter Dress in it. We are praying it gets to her by Easter.

Great News we are going to Hold our Little Angel for the First Time on April 21st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

K-BAM We Are Parents To An Angel!!!

God Knew and His Timing Was Perfect
I knew from the very second I laid eyes on this baby girl...that she was MINE! I never in my life had my heart leap with JOY like it did when I saw Kya Blu Angelica's picture. I was down in TX visiting Cassie and Troy. We were finished with our adoption paperwork and I was waiting on the USCIS to approve us. I had it down to about three agencies all of which would allow me to go live in Guatemala and foster Kya Blu myself. I thought that until I signed with an agency I would not get a referral so I decided to take a little rest from adoption paperwork and visit Cassie. I had been at Cassie's two days when the phone rang and it was my good friend Jana. Her agency, Across The World, which was one of the agencies I was leaning towards had just posted a picture of a baby girl on precious.org a waiting child list. They usual did not have waiting children but at this time they had no families that were paper ready and could take her referral. That is almost unheard of in Guatemalan adoptions, there are usually wait lists for adoptive families wanting baby girls. I immediately got on the computer and clicked over to her picture....and there she was My ANGEL...ANGELICA (I knew in my heart that this was God's way of telling me that my Grandpa was watching over me and they had sent me my baby girl) There she was all wrapped up in BLU clothes too. Every bone in my body ached to hold my Kya Blu Angelica Murnan at that very second. With in minutes I got a hold of Shawn informed him I was coming home ASAP because our baby had been born and I had signed with the agency and they had agreed that we were the family for Angelica. That night I ordered pictures of Kya Blu Angelica from Wall Greens. Our Dear friend Adam even changed the color of her outfit to PINK for me so I could see her in PINK as well as BLU! I drove back home to OK the next day with pictures of Kya taped all over my dash. I will never doubt that God knew from the minute Kya Blu was conceived that she would be our daughter. I love the fact that he gave me so many physical and spiritual signs that this precious baby was destined to be our daughter. I also believe that God was with Josefa during the months she carried Angelica in her belly and he gave her peace that she was doing what was best for Angelica because she loved Angelica so much. I love the fact that she named our baby Angelica...because it shows just how deep her love for Angelica is and always will be. It is also amazing how quickly you can love the your babies Birth Mother with every thing in you. Thank you God for making us ONE BIG FAMILY! I pray that someday we will all get to see the beautiful and gifted young lady that Kya will turn out to be and all realize that YOUR plan has come to pass.

The Begining and The End

I know it has been a while since my last post. A lot has happened in our lives in the last few months. But no matter what is going on Miss Kya Blu is ALWAYS on my mind. My Grandpa passed away on November 26 at the age of 83. I got to spend the last day of his life with him watching the OU Sooners beat the OSU Cowboys in the Bedlam Football game. I am so thankful for all the time I got to spend with him, but that day, I will never forget. I think one of the hardest things for my Grandpa was that he knew he was not going to make it to see and hold Miss Kya Blu. I made a little deal with him. I said "Grandpa I will stay here and look after Grandma and you will be in Heaven looking out for Kya." He said "you got yourself and deal but that's a tall order!!!" Then he said "Candy Paige I Love You!" I am so grateful to God for the life my Grandpa had and the Life he is planning for Kya.
We started out Home study in November and hope to have that wrapped up in Feb. We had some of our paperwork get lost in the mail. That slowed us down a bit. We also went to another Guatemala Oklahoma Adoption social. It was a lot of fun and I got to make some new friends. We also Celebrated my Grandma's 80th Birthday last night at Sho-Gun. I have been so blessed by so many people through all of this. I am on a adoption forum. One of the mom's Dale sent me 2 boxes of Cloths and a box of toys and she doesn't even know me. She adopted a little girl Sabrina from Guatemala. Her Kindness really touched me and I plan on paying it forward. This whole experience has been awesome. Well that is all except the Wait to hold Kya in our arms!
Happy 80th Birthday Grandma
I love you !

When I was pulling this post from our old site to make this book. I realized I actually wrote this post on March 11th 2006....and that means Kya Blu had already been born and was one day old!

Fall Guatemala Social

01-Oct-05

We went to a Fall Guatemala Social for families that are adopting or have adopted in our area. It was so fun getting to play with all the cute babies. I loved getting to meet Michelle and her daughter Abby who came home from Guatemala a few months ago. Michelle was so sweet to let me love on, hold, and play with Abby as much as I wanted. Below is a picture of me with Abby. Holding Abby makes me realize my DREAM of holding my own Guatemalan Daughter is about to come true.
We also met a lot of really nice couples who are going through the process also. I came home tonight and started our application to the agency and our home study paperwork. I will be mailing it Monday. We planned on starting our paperwork this month. Well as you can see I am soooo ready I got it done on the first day. Please keep us in your prayers that everything goes smoothly during this process. We know that right now somewhere in Guatemala KYA BLU is growing strong and healthy is someones belly. Also please pray for the birth mom that she is able to get the nutrition and medical care that she needs during her pregnancy. Also for the decision she will be making and any pain she will have to go through. I pray that God will bless her and heal her heart.
Happy 83rd Birthday Grandpa Paige

Kya Blu it's all about YOU

Dear KYA BLU MURNAN

You may not be growing in my belly right now but you have been growing in my heart for as long as I can remember. For my twenty ninth Birthday July 12,2005, I received the best gift ever. I started the journey that will result in having you in my arms. I have always known that YOU would come into my life when God knew I was ready. Your Daddy and I have been married for five years now. We feel that we have grown as individuals and as partners during our marriage. We have always been very much in love and have learned to love each other unconditionally in the honeymoon stage of our marriage. We have been able to spend the majority of our time together these last five years. Your Daddy owns his own Company and I have been able to be a stay at home wife. We have been able to travel and experience a lot of new things during this time. We now feel like it it is time for you to join in the wonderful life God has blessed us with. I have dreamed of adopting a baby my whole life. I can hardly wait to see you. I have started your bedroom already and I go in every morning a take a look around, wishing I was picking you up out of your crib. I have also caught your daddy in your room. He goes in and presses the music box on your pack n play. It is so sweet. I pray that you will know how much we love you and longed to have you in our arms. We understand that your birth mother made the greatest sacrifice when she made the choice to let us be your parents. We will always hold her in great regard for the wonderful gift she gave to us. The gift of having a family. Her decision to let us raise you shows her great love for you and that she had your best interest at heart. I just read this out loud to your dad and we are both crying. It is so emotional knowing that you are growing in her belly right now and that she is deciding to make our dream come true. There is no greater gift than a child. We miss you already and thank about you every minute of every day.
We love you so much Mom and Dad

Getting Prepared for a Baby
This has been a crazy month! We bought a new home and have been moving in and getting settled. We moved to a great neighborhood in a planned community on a golf course. There are ten miles of walking trails and three play parks for kids. I can't wait to take the baby on walks and to the park to play. Shawn can't wait to buy her golf shoes and baby golf clubs. As soon as we get unpacked we plan to start our paperwork and fill out our application for the agency. I am also going to get started on her room. My mom, her Nana already bought her a John Lennon Baby pack n play. It plays ten classical songs and has a light in it. My Grandma is also on the edge of her seat waiting for us to "get that baby home", its all we can talk about when I am at her house. Her Aunt Alicia and I have tried not to buy out the stores, but it hasn't been easy. We don't know what month she will get to come home so we can't really buy cloths. Now blankets and bibs that's another story. I would like to thank all my friend and family for their help during the move and their support and love as they watch our family grow!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday Grandpa James Murnan

The Dream Begins

The Dream Begins
17-Aug-05
BABY STEPS!!!
STEP ONE : On July 12 2005, my 29th Birthday we took our first step towards making our International Adoption dream come true. We attended a International Adoption Workshop with an agency here in Tulsa, Dillon International. It was a great learning experience and helped us know what decisions we needed to make next. After the workshop we went to dinner for my Birthday with my Mom and Charlie at Gills. We could hardly wait to get there to share our excitement. This is something I have wanted my whole life.
STEP TWO : The first decision we had to make was which country we wanted to adopt from. My three choices were Guatemala, China, and Columbia. So for the next month I sat with the lap top glued to my legs researching the three countries. I would like to thank Kerby for his help researching Columbia and I would like to thank my Aunt Janet for her help with China. I met a new friend when I went to Affair of the Heart with my Mom. Her name is Kristi and she had a booth there. Come to find out she lives very close to me and has adopted two babies from Guatemala. She brought Sam and Sophi Kate home in April 2005.It has been such a blessing getting to know her and her family. She really helped me understand the Guatemala adoption process. In our hearts we were drawn to Guatemala. They are the only country that let's you visit during the adoption process and they will even let you foster your own baby in Antigua Guatemala. Most families get to bring their babies home between four to nine months of age. Guatemala bound!!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHEL PAULINE
MY NANA I love and Miss you everyday

Found this beautiful picture of Jesus holding a little girl that could be my Kya Blu...So Sweet
