Guatemala Visit Trip April 21-25

Guatemala Visit Trip April 21-25
WE DON’T WANNA MISS A THING

We just spent the 5 most wonderful days of our lives holding an Angel. It really felt as if time stood still the minute they placed Kya Blu Angelica Murnan in our arms. I could feel God and his Angels smiling down on us. From the minute we laid eyes on her precious face she held our hearts in her tiny little hands. It was an incredible and emotional experience holding our little girl for the first time. When they placed Kya Blu Angelica in my arms she looked up at me with the expression of "HEY MOMMY, Where have you been? I have been looking for you." She is so precious and her Foster Mother Patricia (Hilda) is wonderful. She truly loves Kya and cares for her very tenderly. Jana and Rod (friends from OKC who are adopting) were there visiting Jenna and were able to video it for us. We spent most of the day taking turns holding Kya while we got our room organized. Our plane was over an hour late which put us pressed for time to pick up Kya. We stayed at the Marriott and it was very nice. They have made a baby lounge on our floor where there are couches, microwave, bottle cleaner, toys, changing table, free Internet access, and a ton of other parents visiting their babies too. We made so many new friends there who are also adopting.

Kya is Daddy’s Little Angel and loves to sleep on his chest and she just watches him. Kya is also mommy’s cuddle bug. She always wanted me when I walked out of the room and followed my voice. She is very alert and has such a cute personality already for the age of 6weeks. She is a very happy and content baby. She does love to be held which by the way was no problem at all. I don’t think we ever put her down. We did not want to waste a minute of our time with her. We gave her so many kisses and would stay up most of the night just to look at her beautiful face. She loved it when we ate at the restaurant in our hotel that played music. She would get all bright eyed and kick her legs (Our Tiny Dancer).

We were able to take Kya’s foster family, our adoption Facilitator Myra (pronounced Myta) and her family as well as the Interpreter and her family to dinner on Sunday night at Pollo Comprero. There were 16 of us total. We had so much fun getting to know them and now consider them our Guatemalan family. They are all such beautiful people. We are so blessed that they got to spend that time with us. I loved getting to know their children and see how they interact with Kya. Patricia’s 13 year old daughter held Kya most of the time. She told me she was making up for lost time…I thought that was awesome because Kya had only been with us for 2 days at that time. It showed me that she really missed her. I also figured out that Patricia and I have the same personality and we are both very motherly. She made me feel very comfortable and I felt like I had known her forever. When I cried she cried and when I needed a hug she was there to give me one. Even though we could not speak the same language we could communicate through emotions and body language. It was such a moving experience. I think it is wonderful that Kya gets to be in their family while we wait to have her in ours. I am so glad God is in control of our lives and that he gave us the perfect baby for our family and the perfect foster family for Kya. There is no way I could have came home from this trip if I did not know how much Patricia’s family loves Kya. We were able to have her the whole time we were there. Mayra and Patricia came to pick her up Tuesday Morning at 5:30am because we had to leave for the airport at 6am. I thought that was so sweet of them to do that for us so we could have that last night with Kya. We are missing her so much already…It was so hard to sleep with out her last night. When I woke up this morning and reached over to check on her and then realized I was not in Guatemala anymore. I would not give up those 5 days for anything. I loved getting to see her while she was still so tiny. Every night we will send our hugs, kisses and prayers down to Guatemala.

Breaking News

April 12
BREAKING NEWS-(OKLAHOMA CITY)
KBAM'S PARENTS TRAVELED TO OKLAHOMA CITY TO GAIN ANSWERS TO WHY NO RESPONSE TO I-600A DOCUMENTATION FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY.

ONCE AT THE OFFICES OF HOMELAND SECURITY THE PARENTS WERE INFORMED THAT NOBODY WAS AVAILABLE TO ANSWER OR HELP WITH THEIR QUESTIONS. ONE OFFICER COMMENTED THAT THE PERSON THAT HANDLES THE ADOPTION ISSUES WITH THE DALLAS OFFICE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. WHEN PRESSED FOR AN ANSWER FOR WHEN HE WOULD BE AVAILABLE THE PARENTS WERE TOLD 3-4 MONTHS.

I GUESS OUR TAXES DOLLARS ARE WORKING WELL IN THIS DEPARTMENT..........NOT!

EMOTIONS WERE RUNNING HIGH AT THIS TIME BUT THEY DECIDED NOT TO BE SHUT DOWN. THEY CONTACTED JANICE HAGAN IN SENATOR TOM COBURNS OFFICE FOR ASSISTANCE. SHE INFORMED THEM TO COME RIGHT OVER AND SHE WOULD HANDLE THE SITUATION. FEARING THE WORST - THAT THEIR PAPERWORK HAD BEEN LOST------AGAIN - SHE STARTED MAKING DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE DALLAS OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY.

IN AN IRONIC TWIST THOUGH; AS THE PARENTS RETURNED HOME AND CHECKED THEIR MAILBOX THE DOCUMENTS THAT HAD BEEN IN LIMBO SAT WAITING. AN AFTERNOON OF PRAYER FROM KYA'S MEME WAS ANSWERED AND THE MARCH TO BRING HOME THIS ANGEL WAS BACK ON.

KEEP POSTED FOR THE LATEST IN BREAKING NEWS REPORTS FROM THE FIELD.

Feels Like Today My Life is Changing!

Ho Hum Just Dreaming of My Mommy and Daddy coming soon to hold me!
Oh Precious Angel...I can't wait to hold you in my ARMS!
Yup I am 22 days old today!
We think of you every second of every day sweet princessa!
HELLO...COME ON MOMMY I WANT YOU NOW!!!

March 22 2006....The Day Our Lives Changed Forever!

We saw the most beautiful baby girl today...her name is Angelica....But we knew in our hearts that her name would soon be Kya Blu Angelica Murnan.

March 23 2006.... God Blessed us with our Bundle of Joy! We knew from the minute We laid eyes on her precious face that she was to be our baby....Thankfully our Adoption Agency Across the World Adoptions thought so too. They let us accept her referral even though we were still waiting on the USCIS approval. Our Adoption Facilitator is Mayra Escobar.

March 28 2006....I got to share the wonderful news with our families today. Everyone cried tears of joy...We are so thankful to God for this Blessing...I have prayed for THIS CHILD and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him Samuel 1:27 ( I would like to send a special HUG to my Grandpa Teel because I know that on this day My Nana Pauline was smiling down from Heaven on both of us.)

March 30 2006....One step closer to holding Our Guatemalan Princess. Spent the weekend in OKC with my friend Jana who is also Adopting a Guatemalan Princess. I was able to get Kya's Dossier certified by the Secretary of State and then off the Houston to the Guatemala Consulate.....I also got to do my favorite thing...SHOP FOR KYA! I bought her first Easter Dress. I also was able to talk with Kya's foster family in Guatemala for the first time. It was so moving...I could not quit crying. Her foster mother is a Wonderful Lady. She said she was so glad God blessed us with this baby. She said that Kya or Nina' as she called her (which means precious first born daughter) was doing great. She was so happy that we called her. She also said she sends her blessings to our family.

April 5 2006...Kya's dossier is sent to Guatemala so it can be translated. We now have our Passports and are just waiting on a letter from INS so we can get fingerprinted..again..We have to have that done to get our approval here in the US. Please keep us in your prayers that we get that done quickly so we can have our baby home as soon as possible.

April 7 2006...We got to hear Kya's voice for the first time over the phone. YES we were crying our eyes out! It was Awesome and we will never forget it. It was a "TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY MOMENT!" We have the greatest Foster Mom and our Friend Minnie who translated for us. We have been so blessed with all the love, friendship, and support we have received from our friends and family. We shared more about us with the Foster Mom and learned more about her. We are the first Adoptive Family to Call her and she really enjoys our calls. We also sent Kya a package this week with her Easter Dress in it. We are praying it gets to her by Easter.

Great News we are going to Hold our Little Angel for the First Time on April 21st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

K-BAM We Are Parents To An Angel!!!

God Knew and His Timing Was Perfect
I knew from the very second I laid eyes on this baby girl...that she was MINE! I never in my life had my heart leap with JOY like it did when I saw Kya Blu Angelica's picture. I was down in TX visiting Cassie and Troy. We were finished with our adoption paperwork and I was waiting on the USCIS to approve us. I had it down to about three agencies all of which would allow me to go live in Guatemala and foster Kya Blu myself. I thought that until I signed with an agency I would not get a referral so I decided to take a little rest from adoption paperwork and visit Cassie. I had been at Cassie's two days when the phone rang and it was my good friend Jana. Her agency, Across The World, which was one of the agencies I was leaning towards had just posted a picture of a baby girl on precious.org a waiting child list. They usual did not have waiting children but at this time they had no families that were paper ready and could take her referral. That is almost unheard of in Guatemalan adoptions, there are usually wait lists for adoptive families wanting baby girls. I immediately got on the computer and clicked over to her picture....and there she was My ANGEL...ANGELICA (I knew in my heart that this was God's way of telling me that my Grandpa was watching over me and they had sent me my baby girl) There she was all wrapped up in BLU clothes too. Every bone in my body ached to hold my Kya Blu Angelica Murnan at that very second. With in minutes I got a hold of Shawn informed him I was coming home ASAP because our baby had been born and I had signed with the agency and they had agreed that we were the family for Angelica. That night I ordered pictures of Kya Blu Angelica from Wall Greens. Our Dear friend Adam even changed the color of her outfit to PINK for me so I could see her in PINK as well as BLU! I drove back home to OK the next day with pictures of Kya taped all over my dash. I will never doubt that God knew from the minute Kya Blu was conceived that she would be our daughter. I love the fact that he gave me so many physical and spiritual signs that this precious baby was destined to be our daughter. I also believe that God was with Josefa during the months she carried Angelica in her belly and he gave her peace that she was doing what was best for Angelica because she loved Angelica so much. I love the fact that she named our baby Angelica...because it shows just how deep her love for Angelica is and always will be. It is also amazing how quickly you can love the your babies Birth Mother with every thing in you. Thank you God for making us ONE BIG FAMILY! I pray that someday we will all get to see the beautiful and gifted young lady that Kya will turn out to be and all realize that YOUR plan has come to pass.
